FAQ:
I came here looking for a PS3/Wii/360 clan, wtf? This clan started off as a
Wii only clan for FPS games. But with the lack of online shooters, a lot of people started upgrading to
PS3 or a
360. It's now a 3 divisional clan for all consoles.
What is AoW? Art of
Wii, the name of the original clan when it was formed, the
Wii side of things still retains this name.
Ao3? Standing for Art of 3, 3 being 3 consoles (
PS3,
Wii, &
360... notice 3 characters in all 3?). The
PS3 and
360 players commonly use this as their tag and call sign. The first official Ao3 clan match had 3 people representing Ao3, coincidental? You be the judge. We are however, above the pity console war arguments (So save the drama for your momma and we b k).
Are there differences between the divisions? Yes. Each console has it's own head & operates it's own way in regards of recruitment, clan matches, game nights, tournaments, organisation, etc. This is to provide the best possible experience for each divisions members. For example, the
Wii division has usually has a K/D requirement for tryouts however, the
PS3 division does not have any K/D requirements.
How old is this clan? It was founded back in November 2007 by
AoW Diaoman, around the time, if not slightly before, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for
Wii came out. What started out as a Facebook group for people who like playing competitive online Wii games turned out to be one of the biggest Wii clans of all time, thanks to awesome leadership and the cool people who constitute this community.
How big is it? Big enough to branch onto 3 consoles.
Do you guys kick ass? Yes, we do.
What games are you recruiting for? Displayed at the start of this thread. *points* We play several games but, this is
Borderlands (
PS3)
Call of Duty: World at War (
Wii)
Killzone 2 (
PS3)
Uncharted 2 (
PS3)
Undecided (
360)
I saw no Xbox 360 game up there, why? Both
PS3/
360 divisions are new, they are deciding on a game at the moment.
How does the Recruitment Process work? Due to over-recruitment, some divisions have K/D Ratio requirements (WaWii only ATM), or some other skill based test/requirement. However, all divisions have a personality test you have to pass. We'd sooner make a cool guy a better player, than take a good player who's a immature douchebag, we have standards.
There's a detailed list of these dedicated to each division at the bottom of this FAQ.
Recommendation(s)?One thing we abolished awhile back was forcing people to tie, or win in 1v1s. It proved impractical and very hard. We replaced it with the Recommendation (Rec) system. The testers requirements for a rec varies by divisions, and games.
They might test your ability in a 1v1, take you into a public game, play with/against you in a small team game (2v2 or so), or do all the above in any order. One thing they will test is your
personality. Not saying you can't relax and unwind, but we just don't dig Douchebags who have a habit of running off & flaming another clan just because they ran a train on him in a public game. Challenge them to a war, win, and then high five each other. =p
How do I join? Two ways; Forums and Networking
Forum Method -[1] Sign up on the forums.
[2] Copy a application below for your respective console.
[3] Make a thread, and fill out that application.
[4] Post it and wait for a reply.
[5] You can check the chatbox on the portal to see if anyone can speed up the process. (Optional)
[6] Check your respective forums for the division you're interested in joining to get a PSNID/Gamertag/Wii Code/MSN/Yahoo/etc. of a staff member to contact. Most forums for a division (Ao3 General for example) has a information thread designed for this purpose. (Optional)
Networking Method -No steps, usually involves adding players of your respective game from the clan & playing/communicating with them, or meeting them in game. You probably will be asked to join the forums though, it's not mandatory but, it's nice.
